President Bush Hates Children

That’s pretty much all that needs to be said:

President Bush vetoed a children’s health measure on Wednesday afternoon, effectively killing Democrats’ hopes of expanding a popular government program aimed at providing insurance to children in lower-income and middle-income families.

  1. Nah, President Bush hates funding programs that would require people to continue smoking to fund them. He also hates getting people off of private insurance and on to the dole.

  2. You’re right. President Bush has once again placed the needs of big corporations, tobacco companies, over the needs over the individual, children without health care. I wish I could say that this is a rare occasion of conservative values but sadly its become the norm.

  3. I really don’t have a lot of sympathy for those individuals who make 80 thousand a year who would be covered by this expansion of SCHIP who choose not to buy health insurance.

Let’s talk about only poor and lower middle class families for a second?

How many poor children did the president provide benefits for today with his veto? Zero? Yup

How many poor children did the president cut funding for today? Millions? Yup.

Furthermore, a family of four living in New York on $80,000 is lower middle class. But sadly, even if you were right, the coddling that the US, particularly this adminstration, has done to insurance companies has allowed them to gouge prices so high that even middle class americans are being squeezed out.
